Diamond Jewelry Theft Reported From Newport Home

According to Sgt. Steve Burdette, on Tuesday, a woman in her 40s found that her diamond necklaces, diamond bracelets and earrings had been removed from her closet. Burdette said that she had left town for the holidays on Dec. 22 and returned several weeks ago, also she did not check her closet until Tuesday. The woman lives in the 100 block of Old Course Drive, in the One Ford Road neighborhood.

Newport Beach police are searching the thief who had stolen about $700,000 in women's jewelry from a home in the gated community.

She found that three diamond-encrusted necklaces, a gold bracelet set with diamonds, platinum drop earrings with diamonds, and a platinum bracelet with diamonds were missing. The two necklaces have emerald-cut diamonds and the police report valued the jewelry at $697,000.
